CLA helps SLIMMERS not to lose weight. However, the supplement has an anabolic function and inhibits the growth of fat cells, making the CLA ratio muscle / fat improves. That told researchers at a meeting of the American Chemical Society.

According to scientists at the University of Wisconsin put people CLA as they arrive twice as much muscle as those who do not use the supplement. This they concluded from a study where 80 overweight people for six months had to eat low fat and had sports. Half of those taking a placebo was given, the other half CLA. The supplement group and the placebo group lost much weight - on average between two and three pounds.

At the same meeting Norwegian researchers presented their research on the use of CLA by overweight people. Without a diet that the average participant lost 75 pounds in a kilo in three months time. Not much, but statistically significant, scientists say. There were sixty people in the investigation.

Conjugated linoleic acid CLA in Dutch as full name, found in animal fats - for example in cheese, dairy and meat. In supplements is 500 to 1000 milligrams of CLA per pill.

Critics remain unconvinced of the benefits of CLA. In animals, or interesting results, but the weight loss in humans is still disappointing. Incidentally, there is nothing known about the long-term consequences of using a high dose of CLA.
