Acetyl L-Carnitine 500 mg - Amino acid preparation
Carnitine is absorbed into the duodenum both via passive diffusion and active absorption. Active absorption is saturable and the passive route is dose-dependent. There is an optimal intake if carnitine is taken with meals. Intake during the meal causes a delayed passage through the intestine, so that more carnitine is absorbed via the active absorption. The plasma levels are maximum after three hours.
