New Care Fatty acid balance is a combination of black cumin oil, black currant oil and algae oil. Together this combination of oils provides a good dose of at least 100mg omega-3 (20%), 200mg omega-6 (40%) and 60mg omega-9 (12%) fatty acids per capsule.
Black cumin (Nigella sativa or Black cumin seed) is an annual herb with light blue flowers and feather-shaped leaves. The origin is in Egypt and under the name Ketzah the plant is already known in the Old Testament. In Arabic it is called 'Habat et Baraka' or 'The Seed of Blessing'. A high-quality oil is extracted from the seeds by cold pressing. This oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, including oleic acid (omega-9).
In the 18th century black currant (Ribes nigrum) was described as 'The bush of a thousand virtues'. The oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, including the omega-6 fatty acid GLA.
Algae oil provides a direct source of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA that are directly usable for our body.
