Feverfew got its name possibly already in a very distant past. It was a plant, which was used in ancient Greece. The species name 'parthenium' points in that direction: it is derived from the Greek word parthenos that "virgin" means.
The plant, which is very strong and unpleasant odor, was introduced already in ancient times from Asia Minor. The flower buds of the plant are good for a relaxing head.
